Inspired by the small boutiques of Europe, founder Melissa Lovoy opened Lake in February 2007 on Rowena Avenue in the heart of Silverlake. Melissa envisioned Lake as a casual, neighborhood boutique filled with pieces that are modern, fresh, beautiful, and well-made.
Melissa is continually looking for pieces with the perfect juxtaposition of opposites: casual and elegant, refined and raw, modern and vintage, simple and sophisticated. Her background in clothing design provides her with an experienced eye for pieces that possess an exquisite color, a quality of fabric, and a specific fit.
